Our Rails Story

To become one of the largest Rails-powered financial services developers in the world was not an overnight change but it did come quickly. This radical transformation from Microsoft Certified Solutions Partner took places over the course of several months, and saw the migration of over 9,000 users from E-xact’s .NET solution to the newly developed Rails-powered application.

What we’ve built, and how

E-xact uses a fully open source stack including: Lighttpd, Mongrel, Agile development, Capistrano, legacy databases, mySQL and AJAX. With our developers wielding Ruby on Rails at the helm, we were able to go from 100k LOC to 20k LOC within our realtime payment manager application, RPM.

Where we are

E-xact’s prestigious clients using RPM for thousands of daily transactions include: FedEx, Chase Paymentech, ADT, US Embassy, Sleep Country, U-Haul, Starbucks, Intrawest, and Avon. We also offer solutions for smaller businesses like Mudbusters Car Wash, whose safe transaction management is just as mission-critical.
